Remembrance Day VIP Regimental Tour Series Tour No. 1: The Régiment de Maisonneuve The University Club of Montréal is proud to present a special series of commemorative events leading up to Remembrance Day 2026. Members and their guests are invited to save the following dates: • Wednesday, September 9 — The Régiment de Maisonneuve 691 rue Cathcart • Thursday, October 8 — The Royal Montreal Regiment • Wednesday, November 4 — Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal Exclusive Guided Tour of the Régiment de Maisonneuve The University Club of Montréal is pleased to invite members and their guests to an exclusive guided tour of the Régiment de Maisonneuve, led by Lieutenant-Colonel (Retired) Léo Benoit. Lieutenant-Colonel Benoit is more than a witness to the Regiment’s history—he has lived it from within. After enrolling in 1969, he rose through the ranks and attained the appointment of Chief Warrant Officer in 1991. That same year, he was commissioned as a captain. From 2003 to 2007, he served as the Regiment’s commanding officer. He subsequently served as an instructor with the Canadian Forces in Kingston, Ontario, from 2007 to 2013. Since 2013, he has been the Regiment’s archivist, preserving its history, traditions and heritage for future generations. This special evening offers a rare opportunity to explore the history of the Régiment de Maisonneuve through the eyes of someone who helped shape it—and who continues to serve as a dedicated steward of its legacy. Schedule 5:30 p.m. — Guests meet directly at the designated regimental location 5:30–6:30 p.m. — Exclusive VIP guided tour 7:00 p.m. — Return to the University Club of Montréal As part of this commemorative series, members will also have an opportunity to sponsor a veteran’s dinner—a meaningful way to recognize their service and express our gratitude in the days leading up to Remembrance Day on November 11. Further details, including registration information and event logistics, will be announced shortly. We look forward to sharing these memorable evenings with you as we honour the courage, sacrifice and service of those who have served.
