Chef David Capel has been a part of the UCM family for over 20 years, bringing his culinary expertise to our dining room as well as to your home through his catering service, Voyage Culinaire.

Chef Capel is originally from the South of France, a region where language and local produce harmonize. Being a Southerner, he aspires to infuse his cuisine and guests with sunshine, warmth, conviviality, and authenticity, all while respecting the products, nature, and their producers. Health is not a question. It’s a priority.

Having Alain Ducasse as his mentor, Chef Capel’s cooking is influenced by Mediterranean cuisine with a subtle touch of global flavors, most notably spices.

On Tuesday, October 26th, 2004, Ms. Teri Jalbert began her journey at the Club. Her dedication and hard work lead her to the role of Captain at the UCM by March 2006.

In September 2008, she was appointed as the Assistant Maître d’Hôtel. However, her crowning achievement during this time came in 2010 when Mme Sylvie Chevarie, General Manager, entrusted her with the notable position of the first woman to become Maître d’Hôtel at The University Club of Montreal.

After a brief hiatus, Ms. Jalbert rejoined the UCM team on September 27th, 2022, reaffirming her dedication to her profession and the place that had become a significant part of her life. In July 2023, she was appointed Director of Operations, a promotion widely supported by the Board, employees and members alike.
