Join us for a guided tour of historic Atwater Library, the oldest subscription library in Canada. Founded in 1828, it was the first ‘Mechanic’s Institute’ in Canada and provided educational services to working-class people in the Victorian era. The Library was recognized as a National Historic Site in 2005. A key part of the local community, it provides library services, computer services, digital & financial literacy programs and exhibitions.
The evening will unfold as follows
5:15pm to 5:30pm - Members meet at Atwater Library : 1200 Atwater, Westmount.
5:30pm to 6:30pm - Guided Tour
6:30pm to 6:45pm - Return to The University Club by metro
7:15pm - Dinner for those who decide to stay.
The price of the event will be $20 per person.
